Re: Event fired when adding module to a page

pmb5,

I would suggest putting this logic in the page load method of your default view control and execute your logic based on whether the setting exists or not already (the first time in it won't exist, but each subsequent time it will) therefore the logic will only be executed once.

This is similar to a common practice of displaying a "you must configure the module before it can be used" message when the module is loaded

Hope that helps

Thanks,

Ian

Re: Event fired when adding module to a page

While there is no "ModuleAdded" event to which you can subscribe, I normally handle this need in a custom Configuration class which loads/saves module and tabmodule settings and makes them available as strongly typed properties. If there are no module settings (or tabmodule settings if you need to handle the addition of module copies/shadowed modules) returned when an attempt is made to load the settings, then you can assume this is the first addition of the module to a page and perform what ever code or SQL procedures you would like. If you module does not use any module or tabmodule settings, you can create one for this specific purpose.
