Hide certain modules from the modulelist in the control panel
Modified By Olivier Jooris on 6/19/2008 8:33:44 AM)

Is it possible to hide some (selected) modules from the modulelist in the control panel?

The premium option is not what i mean.

This is the situation:

  • a large website with a lot of modules for entering different kinds of data.
  • Some users are administrator and want to be able to add the HTML module to there new pages, but they dont't want to see a list of 50 modules which they can't (may not) use.
  • Once the module is put on a page (by me), i should be able to hide it in the list, without deleting those modules from my portal

AFAIR in DNN 4 the only option is to use premium feature, which simply removes the module from the drop down list without removing it from any page (which would happen when deleting the module). Maybe TRTControlPanel from www.davebuckner.com does offer better support.

DNN 5 will allow to grant "deploy" permission for module definitions per role.
