Using DNN DAL with custom bussiness layer DLL 

I would like to create a business logic API library because more than one module may need to reference the same bussiness logic. Can I still use the DNN DAL or would I need to create a DAL with my bussiness layer API? (I am storing all of my business data in a database separate from the DNN database.)

You can use the design elements of the DNN DAL (Enterprise Blocks, CBO etc) even if you are pointing to an external database.
