module access by more than one page 

Hi all,

   i am developing  module which is accessible by multiple page , we cant install module to  multiple page, because it generate diff module id.so how can solve this problem. how to get previous page name not TabId.i have achieve the above issue through  sub menus

I don't fully understand your question, but be aware of the following situation:

  • by placing a new module on a page, an instance of your module definition is created and a tabmodule reference
  • by using "add existing module" an additional tabmodule reference is created, pointing to the same module (ID + Content)

TabID refers to a page not a module.

I think you 'CAN" install a module to multiple pages.

2 ways

(1) Copy a page and select reference to the module.

(2) Install existing module.

However you cannot install multiple copy of the same module instance into the same page.

* By install I mean adding the module to a page.

 first up all thanks for ur reply,

by through ur reply i have accessed the module from  different tab by reference, but  i have to know which tab is currently access that module, why because ihave   diplay the information on load based on the tab.how to identify the tab name(page name).

let me explain my requirement in detail...

i have category menu . on mouse hover  shows sub menus.. like  sub category1, sub category2. on clicking both sub menu it shows same module.my requirement is when clicking sub menu(i.e) sub category1  on load i have display the category1 information. when clicking sub category2 on load category2 information to display, how to indentify the current page name  in code behind.

hope u  understand my question.
