DotNetNuke - Entity Space

Hi,

I am going to create a destination portal which may have 6 hits / minute so I have to keep in mind the performance while developing a module.

I know the EntitySpace and want to use in all the modules of new site. But I don’t know whether I will get good performance if I use EntitySpace?

So please let me know are there any issues to use Entity space with DotNetNuke? Also let me know if you have done the load testing of site which has used entity space framework.

Also I would like to know how we can increase the performance of DNN site.

Thanks,
Ruchir

Re: DotNetNuke - Entity Space

We don't have any benchmarks that we can really publish but we use EntitySpaces in most of our custom modules and our internal testing has shown EntitySpaces to be faster than the standard DNN DAL. I can say that we have very busy client sites that use EntitySpaces in the modules and the load times are very impressive.

Re: DotNetNuke - Entity Space

I can only second what Chrispy says above. I use EntitySpaces and have no issues. It perfroms well and is quick and easy to use. You will produce an application a lot faster eith ES than DNN DAL.

If you know EntitySpaces then you will know that Scott himself is well versed with DotNetNuke. Chat with him.

Declan

Re: DotNetNuke - Entity Space

Hehe, Scott recently joined the AppTheory team although we were using ES for over a year prior to his joining our team :)

Re: DotNetNuke - Entity Space

Thanks for posting replies,

As Entity Space provides two modes "Dynamic Query" and "Store Procedures". Which mode will give more preformance for heavy loaded site? My site's modules will have more busiess logic. so If I used "Dynamic Query" then I may need to provide more where, join and condition to set dynamic query.

Thanks,
Ruchir
