Re: Using DNN controls with "BlankModule" template

Hi Tillman,

I've answered your mail a couple of mintues ago.

For all the others... I've written a small HowTo which should help you overcome this problem and set up the controls right. You can find it as usual in the Projects section of my site.

Tell me if it solved your problem (even more if it didn't!)

Thanks,
Vladan Strigo

Re: Using DNN controls with "BlankModule" template
So FINALLY it works!

I want to express my gratitude towards Vladan who really helped a lot!

The solution is to:

a) use the BlankMod approach from Vladan's site
b) use the "HowTo use DNN controls with BlankMod" from Vladan's site (has been put up there today)

and THEN it's important to not let yourself get confused by the fact that VS is complaining about the path to the labelcontrol.ascx!
When you use src="~/controls/labelcontrols.ascx" my VS is complaining that it cannot find that file (acutally that's kinda understandable because the root of the module folder does not contain the controls folder) BUT nevertheless it DOES work!
Just create your <dnn:labelcontrol ... /> and you will even have intellisense support.
Simply awesome!

Don't really know why this works but honestly....I don't care!

Cheers,

Tillman

Re: Using DNN controls with "BlankModule" template

I was really having problems with this until I left the Root Namespace setting blank.

I was getting
MyModule.Test' is not allowed here because it does not extend class 'System.Web.UI.UserControl'

The compiler was complaining about inline directives such as <%# IsEditable %> not being defined as well

Tillman,

I am glad that it works :)

I am EXTRA glad that it works, because up to now - it was the only showstopper with this kind of solution :)

Boskone,

I must admit that you are the first one to tell me about this problem. I will have to investigate and let you know if I find something worth sharing.
