Bug: c# prevented from DNN development with open source tools

Since, the logged in public can't reports issues (why?!) I'll do it here.

In DNN if you want to develop modules using c# and studio express, the created installation package has to insert something into the web.config:

<codeSubDirectories>

<add directoryName="sub-directory name"/>

</codeSubDirectories>

Apparently not necessary in vb. This leads to an installation error when you upload the module zip.

You can get around this by packaging the code into a dll which is only possible with the full visual studio package.

This vb dependency seems to be an oversight which should be a fixable thing. Basically, now the open source development route has been closed for c# developers. Unfortunate, b/c the ability to develop in c# sold me on DNN.

Kind regards,

Marc

I reported this sometime ago, and logged it in Gemini, it is marked as complete for 4.3.5, so I assume the next version will include this fix.
