Access Manager 1.3

Access Manager 1.3 is near completion, with the dev/demo site containing the work-in-progress version.

Please note I'll be updating this dev site constantly over the next serveral days, but feedback on bugs and UI changes is appreciated.

This version will include:

  1. Optional file-activity logging, with a reporting screen.
  2. Client-side Width/Height scrolling to compliment the exiting pane-slider control.
  3. Bug fixes relating to copy/move operations in certain conditions.
  4. Fix for double-postback intermittent problem on downloading of files.
  5. Other minor bug fixes and admin/UI additions (to be outlined later).

To see the in-progress demo, please visit the development site at:

Re: Access Manager 1.3

The demo version for v1.3 has been udpated at http://dev.adverageous.com

This reflects some fixes to the new scaling UI, as well as internal-module functionality.

Some have asked about the linking/syncing to DNN filesystem.  While I have done many different tests/experiments with this, it will not be integrated into 1.3.

The following will be first priority for the next version:

  1. Linking/Syncing to DNN filesystem
  2. External file linking option.
  3. Optional Integration to other DNN core modules.

I expect Version 1.3 will be completed and ready for download by all existing customers within the next few hours.  Some tutorial posts will be made to forums tonight, to highlight new and old functionality and usage examples.  I will also have a post regarding the file linking, and all the variables related to this.

Re: Access Manager 1.3

Version 1.4 is progressing, and will be on the dev.adverageous.com server soon.

New features for this release tenatively:

Host user can setup alternate paths (other than default portal root), for use by admins of the module to create folders in.  (This will tie into making the modules configured folders/files accessible to other core and 3rd party modules in the near future).

Subfolder search, new search results pane and search option form.

Default fixed size settings - admins can scale the module for a particular screen resolution (Width, Height, pagesize, pane-width) and set to be a "default".  Different settings can be saved for Thumbnail mode and details mode.  This feature will allow an admin greater control over the default "look and feel" of the module.
