Schecter Technology Solutions is pleased to announce the availability of NukeSyndicate 4.0.5 to all premium subscribers.
NukeSyndicate is an podcast creating module for the DotNetNuke 4.x
platform, source code is included. This module has been completely
rewritten by hand to utilize some of the new and exciting features of
both the DotNetNuke 4.x framework and ASP.NET 2.0 itself. It exposes
the enclosure mechanism of the RSS 2.0, Atom 1.0, or iTunes
specification to allow users to subscribe to your feeds URL and
download any type of file to the users desktop each time they check
your feed, and you have published something new.
NukeSyndicate allows you to...
Customize
- The entire user interface for both the list and detail
views can be designed in the module settings via HTML templates and
token replacement.
- In the module settings you can set values for feed title, category, image, author, managing editor email, and description.
- You can add any file type as an enclosure to your feed items including, but not limited to audio and video.
- Custom paging lets you decide how many items to display per page.
- Specify how much of the item description should be shown before providing a more... link to the items detail view.
- Choose your feed format RSS 2.0, Atom 1.0, and now iTunes.
Standardize
- Enclosure storage is handled with the DotNetNuke URL
control so that it integrates seamlessly with the DotNetNuke file
manager. You may use local or remote files for both item enclosure and
image.
- All DotNetNuke interfaces are supported so you know it will integrate with your portal on the deepest of levels. These include IActionable, IPortable, ISearchable, and IClientAPICallbackEventHandler.
- We strive to ensure that all feeds pass standards validation and disallow or handle invalid input depending on the options available.
Optimize
- Feeds can be listed with infinate media casting directories for maximum exposure.
- The
feed created is also recognized as a live bookmark so website visitors
can easily subscribe straight from the browser of their choice.
- When paging data only the specified number and page queried are returned to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Both the category filter and paging mechanisms utilize the IClientAPICallbackEventHandler to enhance your end users experience while browsing your listings.
- Feed URL's are created both by category and in aggregate to make targeted distribution easier.
- Item titles are appended to both the page title and URL to facilitate improved search engine optimization.
- Thumbnails for the list view are automatically created for each image the first, and only the first time they are loaded.
- Clicking on an image thumbnail in list view presents your images in a lightbox mode with keyboard navigation for your users.

If you find other podcast clients that work with
NukeSyndicate please let me know so I may list them. If you are using a
version of DotNetNuke pre 4.x NukeSyndicate 3.2.4 is
still available for legacy use on the DotNetNuke 3.x platform.
NukeSyndicate 4 uses the new code beside compilation model of ASP.NET
2.0 and thus the source is distributed within the install package. As
always if you have any problems, questions, or comments please post
them in the NukeSyndicate forum. You may experience a live demo of NukeSyndicate in action here.
