DNN Guestbook 3.1.2 Released 

IowaComputerGurus Inc. is proud to announce the release of the DNN Guestbook module version 03.01.02.  This enhancement release provides a new "auto-fill" feature for common entry points.

This is the same module that I have previously made available via MitchelSellers.com, as these modules will slowly be migrating from that site to the new IowaComputerGurus.com site.

About the module:

DNN Guestbook is a fully customizable guestbook module for DotNetNuke 4.6.0 and later.  This module allows users to customize the display of guestbook entries to fit any desired display format, they may also conditionally display only certain elements to the public while maintaining a full display for administrative users.

This module was designed with security in mind, with multiple spam protection options including CAPTCHA and authorized user only posting.  A full list of features is below:

  • Fully template driven guestbook display, allowing customization to meet any desired layout
  • Localized text for all input and header records to ensure proper display in your locale of choice
  • All static text elements, error messages, and prompts are localized following DotNetNuke standards
  • AJAX enabled posting system
  • Optionally enabled CAPTCHA
  • Ability to disable specific input fields

With a few outside contributions we have just released version 03.01.06.

This release of the DNN Guestbook module was completed to introduce additional new functionality to improve the usability of the module.  Below is a listing of each enhancement included in this release.

  • Resolved issue with logged in users not being able to modify signature values for name, website, and e-mail
  • Added support for special characters for name and location fields, to support international websites
  • Added paging ability to the guestbook listing as well as a page size configuration option.
  • Modified default display order to show most recent postings first to mimic standard guestbooks
  • Added functionality to allow expanding/collapsing of the "Sign Guestbook" portion, including a setting to default expanded or collapsed.
  • Modifications to .dnn manifest to ensure installation would not be possible on incompatible versions
