DNN Keep Alive Client
I've just released a free utility for the DNN Keep Alive file that reloads it even when there are errors. You can find it here:

DNN Keep Alive

It's primarily for people with new DotNetNuke installations that want to keep them fresh and alive so that there is no waiting when the application fires up.

You just type in the KeepAlive.aspx URL, press enter, then minimize it to the system tray and forget about it.

If there are server errors, or for some reason you can't connect, the application will continue to request the KeepAlive.aspx page until it gets it. The default delay is 60 seconds, but you can configure it as you like.

I wrote the mini-app for a friend who needs it while he's building his DNN site that I setup for him.

I hope some people get some good use from it.

Cheers,

Ryan

Re: DNN Keep Alive Client

When I tried to download this my AV scanner (Avast!) reported it contains a trojan. Not sure if this is a false positive, would be nice if someone else could comment.

Thanks!

Michael

Re: DNN Keep Alive Client

Hi All.

Allthough i don't need this tool i can confirm, that there is obviously no virus. I'm running Vista with McAfee 8.5.0i with the most recent definition file and everything is fine and clean.

To answer the question why i don't need it: my DNN is running on my W2003 Server at home (connected with DynDNS to the internet). To avoid that the asp parts unload and that it takes awful long at the next time i made a small setting in the IIS configuration. When i do remember what it was an if someone wants to know i will check my server config.....

Re: DNN Keep Alive Client

Yes I am actually running W2003 with IIS loaded, if you could relay the info on what the configuration change you made, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks AJ
