Profile Definitions Error - when Creating Child Portal
Modified By Lynn on 3/26/2008 4:23:48 AM)

Hello

Re: Dnn: 4.5.5

I am having difficulty creating a child portal,  - after completing details and click "Create Portal"  nothing happens and I get  the following error message:

Error creating Profile Definitions

Nothing is shown in the site "Log Viewer".

Any suggestions or advice welcome.

Thanks

Lynn

Re: Profile Definitions Error - when Creating Child Portal

You may not have proper permissions set on file system. I would reapply modify permission to network service account on portal folder and all child folders.

Re: Profile Definitions Error - when Creating Child Portal

Try creating your portal selecting the 'DotNetNuke' template from the drop-downs. ISTR some of the templates being broken.

Re: Profile Definitions Error - when Creating Child Portal

Hi

Below is the error message:

Error: Site Settings is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings.GetSiteSettings(Int32 PortalId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.PortalManagement.SiteSettings.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

The above message is only shown in host/portals and by clicking on the edit icon of the empty child site I am trying to create.

Thanks
