Re: "Module Load Warning" - no module is coming up.

There may be a better description of the error in the Admin > Event/Log viewer.

John, thanks so much for replying. This is by far one of my best customers and this is getting frustrating. As you can see from the thread.

But I cannot login to see the Event / Log. So where can I see this.

I logged into my dedi server and looked for a table in the db and did not see one.

I went to my Application Log and looked to see if I could generate an error there by trying to login, but could not. So here is what comes out of the server log. I feel like this is related since it requests the Yellow-Warning GIF that shows up beside the Module Load Warning text. What else can I try?

2008-05-10 19:49:28 W3SVC604803187 DNPSERVER01 216.58.236.118 GET /images/yellow-warning.gif - 80 - 216.58.236.118 HTTP/1.1 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+5.2;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727) .ASPXANONYMOUS=am_t9VzQyAEkAAAAM2EzNmY2MjQtNWM3My00NTM1LTg0NDQtN2VjYmYwNmQ0OTZh0;+language=en-US;+__utma=253365403.1988220821.1196462977.1207695108.1210448932.5;+__utmz=253365403.1196462977.1.1.utmccn=(direct)|utmcsr=(direct)|utmcmd=(none);+__utmb=253365403;+__utmc=253365403 http://www.cmoamerica.com/Home/tabid/36/ctl/Login/Default.aspx?returnurl=%2fDefault.aspx www.cmoamerica.com 200 0 0 1745 662 46

I finally remembered Sebastian suggesting to remove your customizations by deleting files /App_GlobalResources/GlobalResources.<portalID>.resx whre portalID is the id of the portal. Even though my client says that he has not touched anything on the site, I tried that anyway. Well shucks. It worked. So my problem is solved for now.

But there has to be a bigger issue if making a minor change to the Terms or Privacy settings causes this to happen.

Thanks again.

Re: "Module Load Warning" - no module is coming up.

Couldn't find the table ? In my DNN database it's called dbo.EventLog

Something like SELECT * FROM dbo.EventLog WHERE LogTypeKey = 'MODULE_LOAD_EXCEPTION' should return the rows of interest. The data you're interested in is buried in the XML value in the LogProperties column. Copy and paste the value into something like XML Notepad to make it a bit easier to read. Somewhere in there you'll find a stack trace which should pin point where, if not why, the problem is occurring.

Good luck, Rhys.

Re: "Module Load Warning" - no module is coming up.

Cliff,

glad you solved it for the moment. have you been able to save the offending resource files, so I might have a look at it (sebastian.leupold {at} dotnetnuke.com)?

Re: "Module Load Warning" - no module is coming up.

We are experiencing both of these login issues, and the deleting of resource files does not fix it. They were working a few days ago and over the last few days more and more site have developed the problem.

Any news on how to fix this will be most appreciated

Steve

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

We have solved the issue with not being able to log in for botht he errors mentioned in this thread.

In the Authentication table all of the rows had IsEnabled set to false, changing the row for DNN to True (or 1) meant we could log in again.

At this stage we are not sure what has caused all of the rows to be set to false, last week the sites were working, and progressively less were working over the weekend until we could not log into any of them.

Suggestion: In the Host Settings page where you can enable and diable the authenication types available for the site, I suggest you should not be abe to unselect all of the options, perhaps some ajax or validation code on saving the page to check at least one is selected. Although this wouldn't have helped us, it does seem a flaw in the system.

Have an awesome day

Steve
