Beginners question on CSS Classes

Hi there,

I am familiar with using CSS inlined within code, however I've just downloaded a module that has

CSS Class Prefix

as an option.

Am I correct in assuming that this is where a class would be specified that references a CSS stylesheet? If so, where would I replace this style sheet?

And in what format would this option take? Something like { color: blue; }?
