Too long to unzip 4.8.2 install 

Why oh why does it take over 2 hours to unzip the 4.8.2 install package. I am using a Windows XP Pro machine with a Pentium 4 1.7MH CPU and 2GB of RAM. I am using the unzip cabability built into Windows. No other zipped file from anywhere takes the time that ALL of the files from the DotNetNuke site do. Why?

That's rather strange... I haven't tried it in the built-in Windows functionality, I use WinRar for things and it is (and has always been) quite speedy.

That is odd - I just unzipped the 04.08.02 install package using the unzip capability in Windows Vista Business in 1 min 16 seconds.  Perhaps you got a bad download but that wouldn't explain the slowness on other files from DNN.  Are you using an anti-virus program which does deep scanning of each and every file?

Are you unzipping the contents onto another drive?

If so, Vista currently has problems with copying files to different physical drives. This may be the same issue.

You either have a corrupted Zip (download again) or there is something really wrong with your setup.  On my notebook it took about a minute.  Reboot your machine and try again.  Give Winzip or any of the free tools out there a try also.

And next time please don't wait two hours to find out what is going on .
