The unprofessionalism of a public "lynching" by the original poster (and a few others) astounds me to no end.

I've been a customer of PowerDNN since their inception and have not had one single issue with the way they handle their end of the business. I am actually quite proud to have them "watching my back" instead of being an absentee landlord as a hoster.

I have to agree with Mr DeGange here. This is nothing more than an unwarranted public lynching. Rather than reflect badly on PowerDNN, it instead reflects quite poorly upon the DNN community in general. Additionally I find the comments from people associated with DNN corporation itself to be disturbing and counter productive.

I have used PowerDNN after using several hosting companies that were slightly less than reputable. Unlike those other companies PowerDNN has always lived up to its claims. That is not an exagerration. Everything they have promised they have delivered. PowerDNN has done much for no extra cost that i was fully expecting to pay for.

Lastly, and more importantly, there were things I have had to pay them for which are not covered by their services but they did so cheaply and professionally. It was worth much more to pay them to do the work than it would be to do it myself.

I frankly appreciate the attention that they have given to various issues. I find the response to all of this rather unprofessional. It solidifies a notion that DNN programmers are hacks and cowboys.

Woah Guys!

The security bugs have existed for that long and you guys still aren't taking this seriously?

In that case, I'd have to really stand behind powerdnn.  you guys are dragging your feet and they're helping the community.

Re: PowerDNN: Put up or shut up

Given the ongoing debate pro and con, either critical or supportive of the behavior of the parties involved, how about everybody considering two very simple old-fashioned steps to correct the situation:

1) Offer apologies for any unintended miscommunications and misunderstandings.

2) Reclarify with formal policies and procedures the expectations for adherence to any agreements (with duties and responsibilities for each of the parties) in order to prevent any future problems of a similar kind.

No, it does not have to be a "kiss and make up", but our American society would do well to return to some of the culture of the "buck stops here" from days past when leaders took responsibility for fixing problems instead of blaming others. Let's everybody work together now to fix these problems.

Shaun has posted a comment here, it's almost impossible to keep up with the communication as there are so many threads:

That's what some people want - the more confusion, the more people will be misled. In the end, they may get away from it, who knows.
