I would venture a guess that maybe most general users are not .Net programmers, but the majority of people who use these forrum I think are .Net programmers. There may be a few people who are not .NET programmers, but not nearly as many as you would need to support and idea like this. Personally I like that its open source.

I like that it's Open Source too and am not proposing to change that. I'm just trying to find a way to get faster support for interim issues that crop up with the core modules. Maybe the standard DNN support plans will cover this. I'll find out, but I really doubt even that will offer patches between module releases.
I understand about the software change management issues with interim patches that someone mentioned earlier. I did spend 8 years as a programmer in the past, just not .NET. However, when the dot releases are months apart and major errors are not being fixed, it makes it difficult to use the apps for production business sites. I'm just trying to find a way to help the core module teams directly.
