Hi,

I contacted Crystaltech's excelent tech support and they solved this problem for us, they provided us with a different smtp server address that works with dotnetnuke's smtp server settings and child portals  .

If you are having this same issue with Dotnetnuke SMTP server settings / child portals and crystaltech's mail servers , please contact crystaltech tech support (which, by the way is excelent!), and they will provide you with the correct smtp server address to use with DNN.
