Problem with "@lert" word again - page rendered useless.

Hi,

This is something to do with the fact that my page is called Poker @lerts (note, replace the @ with an a throughout this post). I can't link to it as the forums will throw a wobbly - please go to PokerDIY and click on RSS Feeds in the bottom link menu at the bottom of the page.

If you go to this page as a logged on user and click on Update (there is a role subscription module on there) or if I go in as Admin and try to update ANY module on that page then it redirects to a blank page and falls over (http://www.pokerdiy.com/Home/Poke) - ie. it truncates at the point where the word @lert starts).

So, if you misspell the URL (e.g. http://www.pokerdiy.com/Home/Pokerlerts/tabid/524/Default.aspx instead of http://www.pokerdiy.com/Home/Poker@lerts/tabid/524/Default.aspx (you know what I mean)) then this page functions fine.

There is some core DNN security function truncating my URL which prevents any postback from occuring and renders the page useless. To fix it I would have to rename my page but this will affect SEO and I really don't think this is desired behaviour. Anyone got a way around this? This bug manifests itself in many ways (ie. you can't say the word @lert on these very forums).

Thanks,
Rodney

this has been resolved in cambrian where that particular word will reformat as a-l-e-r-t . I'll also be extracting the blacklist of words into a config file setting so that can be altered if required.

Rodney,

Although I haven't tried it personally, you *might* be able to circumvent this error by stripping the @lert token via a friendly url.  Something like {Match = '/Poker@lerts', Replace=''}.  I'm only assuming that the friendlyUrl httphandler is not squeezed through the security routine, and even then I'm sure my match/replace will require tweaking.  This might see you through until the Cambrian release is out.

I'm glad to hear that this has been resolved in 5.x!  This one has caused me a number of nightmares as well.

Brandon

Edit: Ha!  Got caught using the forbidden word again!
