REAL NOOB QUESTION - MENU ITEM

Hey everybody....we are a real bunch of noobs here...started using DNN like 2 days ago (basically took us that long to get it installed .lol)....

Anyways...we need to make menu item titled "communities" and when you hover over it then all the pages for the relevant communities should drop down. What I dont understand though is how to create that "cummunities" menu option without having to create an entire visible page for it. This is because nothing should happen when someone clicks on "communities"....they should only select a specific community from the drop down menu.

How do I do that?

Thanks

Re: REAL NOOB QUESTION - MENU ITEM

Add a page and name it Communities, then look down the settings for a tick-box in Advanced Settings labeled "Disabled" and put a tick in it. This leaves the page as a visible menu item, but makes it not clickable.

Re: REAL NOOB QUESTION - MENU ITEM

Thanks Rob..

This has been the most frustrating day ever...lol..

I actually tried that about 40 miin before posting the question...but when I logged out to test it the 'communities' item had completely dissapeared so I thought that wasnt the solution. But now after you suggested it...I tried again...and it worked perfectly. ?????? weird...l.....I dunno but maybe im just too tired and halucinated or something. lol

thanks again.

Re: REAL NOOB QUESTION - MENU ITEM

Hi Daryn,

You might have unticked the 'show in menu' box further up.. that would make it vanish.

And have no fears.. DNN will totally do your head in... I suggest to always wear a helmet!

Rob
