Re: Publishing content with workflow management

Hi Make Portal,

sorry, can you please confirm, is there someway to configure enterprise f0rms to setup publish settings for standard text/HTML, or other modules?  or are you suggesting this feature is simply part of enterprise f0rms modules, so changes made to EF can be set to publish?

Please adivse,

(the reason I ask is I already have Enterprise f0rms, but have only ever used it to build f0rms in our site and have not seen any publish settings like those mention).

Cheers,

for info on our website DNN skinning, feel free to check out our website at: www.spwd.co.nz

Re: Publishing content with workflow management

Yes, it is true - you can hook Enterprise f0rms Workflow Manager in to provide work flow for a DNN core text / html module. So user A can update content in the module, and it does not display until user B approves it. How's them apples?

There is a free download on the Enterprise f0rms site. See the first download at that link - "Text / HTML Module Workflow Extender." I haven't put that bit in production yet (but certainly will) but I did download and test it, and it works as advertised.

As noted, Enterprise f0rms can also accomplish much more. One of the scariest pieces of software, inside or outside of DNN, that I've had the pleasure to know. And one that I use regularly.

By default, most of the advanced workflow tasks are not enabled (including the Text/HTML Workflow enabler) thus you will need to enable them via the Advanced Portal Features view (accessible from the Template Manager module's menu and accesisble by a super user only).

Re: Publishing content with workflow management

Hi Will,

We are looking into content moderation and authorisation for our intranet and were wondering when the core team will include this functionality in other DNN modules, specifically the HTML/Text module? You mention next year, can you tell us when and what modules it will be available in? We notice that the events calendar already has this, can the functionality be ported to the HTML/Text module? is that in the plan for a future version? We could possibly wait for this to be released, if you could let us have a timescale.

Thanks,

Andy
