Re: How can I get the RSS link from Announcement module

in order to enable rss you need to do 2 things:

  • enable the search index scheduled task in host>scheduler
  • check the option "enable syndication" in the module's settings

you will then see an rss button in the module container (depending on the container you are using though, if in doubt, use a container from the core skin)

Re: How can I get the RSS link from Announcement module

Erik,

Can you please be a little more specific about how I do the first step (Enable the search index scheduled task in host>scheduler)....

I am running DNN 4.7 and see a host->Schedule  menu item...when I select that I get a list of various scheduled items...none of which is called "Search Index".

If I am to add it, then what is the Full class name and assembly etc?

Is there somewhere that these classes are  documented?

Thanks in advance!

Paul Hermans

Re: How can I get the RSS link from Announcement module

the one i was talking about is called "DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler, DOTNETNUKE", it is enabled by default in dnn, and set to run every 30 minutes. This means that changes in your content only will be visible in your rss feed after 30 minutes

Mind you: this is not an announcement module specific question / subject: this is generic dnn core stuff.
