Re: the read more link

pdj-
We routinely add and remove many articles and newsletters on our various websites.  I usually prefer to use a new Text/HTML module for each article.  This allows me to use the Text/HTML module settings to reveal/hide each article based on date as well as user role.  This in turn allows our staff to create articles well in advance on the webpage but the articles stay hidden until the target date.  "Expired articles" automatically dissapear and are removed at our leisure.  Content administration is very easy for us using this process.

User-Friendly Navigation from "Announcements" Module Links:
On pages where I'm required to include the full text of multiple articles (i.e., lots of page scrolling for the user) I sometimes use the Text/HTML module "Advanced Settings" to include a basic HTML anchor in the "Header" area.  This lets my associated Announcement link directly to the correct place on the webpage for each article.  You could include the anchor in the HTML of the article itself but an article content editor might come along behind you and accidentally erase your added HTML so I prefer to keep the anchor "hidden" in the Header area of the module's Advanced Settings.

For example, on a page with multiple articles an article titled "How to Save Money" could have a module "Header" settings with "<a name='save_money'/>".  I would then add "#save_money" on to the end of the associated Announcements page link so the user would be auto-scrolled to the correct spot on the target page.

I hope this gives you a few more ideas towards a good solution for your needs.  Cheers!
