Stacktrace... help 

 

Please help me.  My announcement module works sometimes and then fails.  This is the exception that is thrown.  I have the latest module.

Unfortunately this is one of the most generic error messaged .Net uses. 

Most of the time when you see an error like this it is because the module is trying to load up something that is not there.  For instance, if you had several categories and you selected one for a specific event.  After saving the event you delete the category.  Now you try to edit the even and you get an error because the code is trying to bind a dropdown list of categories and then set the selected item as the category that is not there.  How you are referencing an instance of an object that does not exist.

However there are a lot of reasons that you could get this error.  Needless to say the code is looking for a Selected Category and is not finding it.  I hope this helps a little.

I really appreciate your response.  A couple issues.  I figured out that it was actually the event module that was throwing the exception, duh.  Also I turns out to be a bug in the events module where the category select mechanism in the module breaks it.  The solution is to disable catagory select.  Thanks again for your insight.
