Re: Dropdownbox 'Select view' not visible for users

so far i have not been able to reproduce this. However it sounds like some kind of caching issue. Updating module settings clears the module cache so that explains why updating the settings fixed the issue for you. Please keep me informed if you ever see this behaviour again...

Re: Dropdownbox 'Select view' not visible for users

Exactly the same thing happened to our page today. All of a sudden the "select view" and the edit symbol appear even for non-registered users. Checking and unchecking the Show Container option did not do anything. The bad thing is: All announcement modules suddenly show this error as soon as we update the settings!

I'd really appreciate any form of help.

it would help if you could get me a copy of the site, or grant me (temporary) host access. You can contact me on this email: erik.vanballegoij@dotnetnuke.com

Re: Dropdownbox 'Select view' not visible for users

I managed to get rid of the bug now by editing one announcement per affected module, like adding a dot somewhere. Suddenly everything worked as intendet.

Re: Dropdownbox 'Select view' not visible for users

Ok one thing you might find interesting regarding the reproducability:

I asked my colleagues about what they did different than all the time before and one mentioned having worked on the affected modules and having discovered the "Preview" option of DNN in the upper right corner. I tried this morning and managed to reproduce the bug by opening a page with the announcement module in it and then checking the Preview option. This triggered the container to be showing no matter what the setting for the container was. Editing a random announcement in the module removed the effect again.

Hope this helps you.

Kind regards,

Cashew
