Re: replace fck?

I would be careful, there can be difficulties with the provider, you might need to adopt.

Re: replace fck?

If you think it falls short, there are other options out there - Telerik RadEditor, CuteEditor, an offering from Speerio...

Re: replace fck?

Joe,

Yes, you can normally do a straight replacement of the FCK files that are in the provider folder, but it always depends on exactly what has changed in the new FCK release. I suggest backing up before trying it out.

Re: replace fck?

I actually just did this last week and am now using the latest DNN FCKeditor Provider 1.0.9 upgarded to use FCKeditor 2.4.3 on my site and now i see that FCKeditor 2.5 has just been released. I guess i will have to do it again!!

You can simply copy over the files from FCK 2.4.3 (do a backup first) but you need to keep and use the original fckconfig.js and the js files in the custom folder. There are some differences in there that broke the editor when i did a complete replacement and modified the custom/fckconfig.js to match the one included in the dnn provider.

I will try an upgrade to FCK 2.5 and maybe make the file available for those that wish to try it.
