Hi all

I have an DNN4.8 insallation with which I can edit and use FCKEditor with Firefox but with Internet Eplorer it breaks ..... my Internet Explorer breaks when trying to use these forums .... my development project executed like this:   www.mydomainname.com  makes the FCK Editor break (it hangs the browser, Internet Explorer) ..... but if i use localhost/devmydomain then the FCKEditor works in Internet Explorer .... can anyone shed some light on this?

Settings in the host menu is:

Enable Ajax checked

Compression:   (just the same as DotNetNuke default installation)

             Exluded paths (empty)

             White space filter:  (?<=[^])\t{2,}|(?<=[>])\s{2,}(?=[<])|(?<=[>])\s{2,11}(?=[<])|(?=[\n])\s{2,}

Page State Persistence: Page

Caching: Heavy

Caching method: Module

Compression: No compression

With all respect of the core team of dotnetnuke but I don't think it is anly a issue of browser settings, every machine at every customer of ours has problems with Internet Explorer to access the FCK Editor on this site and on every default installation with dotnetnuke. When swapping out the FCKEditor to the old Ftb3HtmlEditorProvider (the one that was shipped in DotNetNuke 3.0.11 we don't have any problems in any Internet Explorer broswer anymore ...... even more is when downloading FCKEditor from www.FCKEditor.net and using the samples there all our workstations can use the FCKEditor without problems ... but in the DotNetNuke shipping of the FCKEditor ...it breaks and cannot be used properly .... What has happend and what has been implemented in FCKEditor since the days of Ftb3 editor ...... is the source code for the DotNetNuke shipping of Ftb3 editor stil available ?

The same performance problem can be seen on the ComponentArt and Telerik components ..... they are virtually impossible to use .....

What do you guys do with the Internet Explorer after a default WinXp installation ?. What kind of settings adjustment dp you do ? ..or do you not use Internet Explorer at all?
