FCKEditor with a File Browser

Hi Folks,

One problem I have with the DNN implementation of the FCK Editor is the lack of a file browser when linking to files. You know the problem. You want to upload and link to a PDF. You click the link icon, browse server, select File and then use the drop down lists to change folders and locate/upload your file. It is not very user friendly especially if you have lots of files on the server.

I have put together a little hack of FCK to use the File Browser that comes with the non DNN version of FCK.

Along with a much better interface this change also automatically sets the target to _blank saving the need to manually make that change. Makes client training  just a little easier.

I like this change and thought I would share, especially when so many of you have helped me out numerous times.

You can download the files from www.clearviewis.com/FCKeditorFileBrowser.zip

Note: These changes are not multi-portal aware and I cannot provide any support.

Have fun

Tony

Re: FCKEditor with a File Browser

Hi this sound s great. I tried to bring your solution to my local test portal, but i does not seem to work. DO you have a description with some more details?
I tried to copy all the files as you describe in the readme.txt, without success. Looks like there is something wrong with the URL (txtURL)...
