Images shows up broken in editor

I've just installed FckEditor for the first time, configured it and it seems to be running correct. I can upload images and create folders with upload and browsefunction. No problem there.
However when I choose a image it comes up broken in the editor. It seems to be a url path problem. Currently images are inserted with the following path:

userfiles/image/bik.jpg

But since I have integrated the editor in a CMS in a parent directory, the path will be invalid :/ .. Is there someway for me to apply a full url path for the images? Like;
http://mydomain.com/dir/dir/dir/userfiles/image.bik.jpg

I've tried changing $Config['UserFilesPath'], but that didn't help.. I've read something about being able to edit this in "custom editor options" - i'm not sure if thats in another relation. But where do I find this custom editor options?

I'm using v.  2.5.1 and PHP

oh yea, I see people refer to different versions of DNN in relation to working with FCKe. What does DNN do? Is it something I should use in some way with the editor? Sorry if that sounds stupid, but im new to this :)
