Help! Serious issue with editor in 4.9
Modified By Jack Hoelz on 9/26/2008 6:42:17 PM)

This is creating more problems than I can shake a stick at.

If you use a module that loads one or more editors, like the Ventrian News Articles Module, or AJAX Tabs or, well about any 3rd party module we use, the editor always inserts   between the div or p (depending on your settings). You need to go into the source view to see it.

This is a serious issue with the editor as the module thinks there is content in a field when there is not. All news articles created think they have details, all tabs think the have a custom header.

What can we do to get this fixed?

The   has been around for a while .. since 4.8.0 or maybe even earlier? It doesnt look like its going to be changed anytime soon.  Especially if its a FCK bug, so not too much can be done on the DNN side.

The link above indicates "When FCKConfig.EnterMode option is left to use implicitly set default value (P), nothing appears in source code of empty textarea, which is OK."

What does that mean and how do we set that?

Re: Help! Serious issue with editor in 4.9

Open the /custom/fckconfig.js file with notepad

delete the line containing the  FCKConfig.EnterMode parameter

Clear your browser cache and thn test again
