Advantages?

I have looked around for information/documentation.  Since 4.4.0 has reminded me there may be a performance costs with every module, I am looking at benefits/risk, relative purpose of different modules.  Does the contact module have a benefit of avoiding spamming/phishing?  I'm thinking it might because the information appears to be stored within SQL/ASP.NET.  When I did a view source on the page, it didn't appear to have the information in the page.  However, if spamming/phishing works off screen scraping, then it wouldn't help.  Thoughts? Thanks.

Re: Advantages?

Please note, that developement of the contacts module is discontinued. We will soon provide a sunset version for migration to UserDefinedTable, that allows more flexibility, i.e. you can define your own attributes and it is prepared for allowing users to edit their own entries only. UserDefinedTables uses core function CloakEmail to protect against spam spiders.
