Use contacts for blast email?

I want to create and manage my users in 2 or 3 different groups so that I can send a blast email to all members of one of the groups.  Is the Contacts module the way to do that?

If not, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

Brian Bullock

Re: Use contacts for blast email?

I think there is a simpler way to do it - create and assign your users to 2 or 3 roles - each role corresponding to a different type of "blast".  This way you have nothing new to create, you can cross-assign your users, etc.

current Contacts module is in no way connected to user profiles.
