Feature Request: Email to the Contact List

New feature request for the Contact List.

Add a button at the button "Send email to all members of this list"

Admin option to allow / hide the button. Plus ability to limit use of the button (visibility) to only a specific role. Button is not visible is user is anonymous.

Upon clicking it, opens an instance of "Newsetters" (formerly Bulk Mail) with the "from" address being the current user and the "To" is either the Role source of the list (see other feature request) or a BCC to all members of the list.  No ability of user to edit the "from" or "to". Actually, hide the actual contents. Just show "To: members of Scout Den 1 List"  This allows members to email each other, but protects their actual email address privacy.

This way, I could have, say, a Cub Scouts List.  A registered user of the site can see the list and I've allowed any member of the "Scouts Parents" to send an email.  Now a Scout Parent can log in, see the list and easily send a message to the whole list without having to have an email client, or address book or maintain a Distribution List, or copy/paste all the addresses.

By combining Contact List with Security Roles and allowing non-admin emailing to the list, you create a situation where you can have a club or organization (like scouts, sports, PTA, etc.) and allow users to send an email to the list.

Hi Jking078

Are you interested in joining the Contacts Team?

We are recruiting and you seem to have some good ideas.  If so, please email me at charles.nurse@dotnetnuke.com.

Re: Feature Request: Email to the Contact List

I don't know how closely the two teams talk to each other but it would also be nice to intergate something like this into the Calendar module. Invite members of an organization to attend an event.

jking078
