32 Registered Users but only 14 Data Points???
Modified By ajsansone on 6/4/2008 5:14:11 PM)

When I setup my Map Module to import registered users' geocoded addresses into the Map Module, only about half of the amount of total users are being imported into the Map. I checked to make sure that all of my 32 registered users have an associated address to their account and they all do. Why aren't all my registered users being geocoded and imported into the Map?

Re: 32 Registered Users but only 14 Data Points???

There are two possible issues. First, the process that does the geocoding failed to get the points for a few of your addresses, or the process only ran part way through before it was halted. It will automatically kick off again as users hit the page (its a request based callback function).

Re: 32 Registered Users but only 8 Data Points???

The Map module needs to set a standard for registering users of a website. If all users are to be imported correctly into the map, the address fields must be formatted correctly in the registration form. Again if the registration form is not setup correctly the map module will not geocode the users address to a latitude and longitude placemark.

Unfortunately if your users don't use the US address system, this will be an ongoing problem for you.  Being chained to the Google maps API means this module wont be of much use to users outside the US.

I'd look at other options if I was you, much easier and more reliable maps/ results.

Re: 32 Registered Users but only 8 Data Points???

Any hints what those OPTIONS might be? I've googled for a couple days, and even paid a 'solution' provider for customizing their module for me, and all I've done is go around in circles spending money, and not having a solution.

I appreciate that Br4rce has moved their FREE map module into DNN, and any support is further generosity, however, I see a big demand in the market not being addressed - even when someone is offering money to create the solution.

What gives?
