Chat Message Persistence

Is it possible to allow the chat messages to persist?

For instance, could a user:
1. ask a question using the chat module
2. leave the page
3. another visiting user visit the page 5 minutes later...see the question and answer it. (like IRC, MSN Messenger etc)

.... or is that not possible with this module?

I see the "Display capacity" and understand that, but what is "History Capacity" for. I would think that it would persist that number of messages in the chat window so new visitors could see the last posts from users when they visit the page containing the chat module but it doesn't appear to work that way on my server.

I'd like to be able to be able to see at least 25-50 posts into the conversation when I visit the page with the module before I start chatting.
Is that possible with this module?

Thanks!
