Does it work for Online Chat Support?

Does this module work for companies that want to provide online support? I'm sorry if this has been answered but I kept up with this project somewhat casually through RSS and never saw anything about this sort of functionality.

Or is this module more for chat room function (just for fun or whatever) ?

Re: Does it work for Online Chat Support?

Hi Joseph,

I, too, was interested in this module for online support purposes. I pulled down the module and did some testing on it. To me it looks more like a simple, generic, page based chat system. This is a great start, but several features would be needed in order for it to fill an online chat support niche IMHO.

I also wrote a more detailed post discussing this aspect of the new module, if anyone is interested.

Re: Does it work for Online Chat Support?

You are absolutely right. Yes, it's a basic chat module at the moment, which means that anyone viewing the same module can see the messages.

We too want the module to be usable in an online support scenario (thanks for your post) at some point in the future, but at the same time, we don't want to forget about those wanting to be able to host a chat room on their website.

Lots to do, I'd say

Greetz,
