If you read the other (2!) posts to this forum, you should see that this is a new module that (apparently) is just starting to be developed. No details are available, so I suspect we won't see a release for some months at the earliest.

If you have an immediate need try looking for a 3rd party solution at www.snowcovered.com or www.google.com

[Edit: also just came across these free ones: http://www.ploufs.net/Module/tabid/84/Default.aspx]

Re: Where is the Chat module?
Any idea of when we will see the first release of this project?  Is there still an active developer working on this project?  Is there still a team working on this project?  Do you need assistance if so, I am a learning developer which would gladly setup a dog fooding environment to test the betas' and also do research to help this project along.

Re: Where is the Chat module?

Dear Project Team,

I do not want to push, but since there was no progress now for weeks, I think we should have a draft comment on the following:

- do we already have a draft idea what the chat module is going to provide ?

- do we have a requirements-list somewhere ?

- can we (still) post our own wishlist ?

- can we (still) vote on the functionality the first release will come up with ?

I mean, I do not expect that the chat module will pop-up the next days, but as chat is essential for all the community, it would be good to have at least some draft idea on what we can expect when it comes out some day.

kind regards

René
