DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unknown server tag 'asp:LinqDataSource'
Modified By toadkicker on 5/28/2008 2:28:58 PM)

Ok so I don't know why this happens but I've had a few times where VS 2008 doesn't ask me if I want to target 3.5 and I've gone on about my business not realizing the error. So as a reminder to myself and others out there if you see this error, right click on your solution and go to properties. Under the build section make sure you're targeting 3.5 and save yourself some headache.

Hi toadkicker,

it's nice to hear I'm not the only one to do this mistake. Thanks for the reminder, maybe once we have had this error more than n^n times we'll start our projects setting the target framework, just in time to have some new headaches with other errors.

[Edit] Also remember when upgrading the framework to keep changes made to the compiler and assembiles sections in web.config to prevent further headaches with custom modules targeting 3.5. [/Edit]

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
