Custom Registration

I need a custom registration method which will take additional information on signup, assign them to a specific role and such. I have done this in my own app but i need to apply this to DNN. Where is the registration code for DNN, is it in a module or what? How difficult is this going to be?

Re: Custom Registration

You might prefer to take a look at DataSprings' Dynamic Registration and Dynamic Login modules.

Re: Custom Registration

Hi Oops,

disregarding how difficult it would be, I think you should check if the built in profile editing features suit your need, before. DNN offers some customization and the capability to add custom fields that may already allow your users to enter the desired info on register. Try browsing to Admin > User Accounts > Manage Profile Properties.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Re: Custom Registration

Hi Oops,

Not long ago I held the same view as dario, however the flexibility that datasprings has brought us is fantasic, We found the core registration both to be limiting and also quite akward, Whereas dataspings allow question branching as well as completetion events such as adding to roles.  That said however. this module has some of the worst UI bugs (on the admin side) that I have ever seen.

Could you provide a link to your site so that we can see the functionality?
