Linq Module

Hi,

I created a new module on the base of LinqTings4Sale tutorial of Michael Washington and it works OK on my local machine with the full installation of DotNetNuke. But it does not work on the production server. The reason for it is the .dmbl located in subfolder of App_Code. There is no such folder on the web server and I do not have way to upload the classes for Linq. I could not find new dll in my bin folder as I expected to be there. How you add the assembly to the program?

Thanks

Vlado

Yeah I was about to point out that DotNetNuke would not run without that folder

Re: Linq Module

Hi Vlado,

yes, LINQ is so good. You can create the data layer without knowing anything about the data architecture itself. (Personally I don't know anything about SQL, sp, and things like this, I only know that they have something to do with data). But anyway something has still to be covered:

  1. ObectQualifier is still not supported. Do we really need it or we can just stop worrying and migrate to LINQ? As far as I know it was used to co-host DNN with other applications in the same db, but how common is this scenario?
  2. Tables creation and management: is there an easy way to do it without knowing SQL scripts? If not, LINQ will not solve all my problems, since the data layer will still need SQL to be created.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
