Document module add document

Hi,

I am developing a portal where among other things users will be able to add/edit documents. But right now it seems only admins can do it. How do I achieve this? Besides the documents which have been uploaded will only be vieable to the users who had uploaded it. For example if a user say A uploads a document D1 and a user B uploades a document D2, then A should only see D1 and B should only see D2. They can inturn edit their individual documents as well as add a new document.

Is this feature possible with the current document module? If not can you tell me if there is any other similar module available in the market? I dont want to let the users change any settings in the document module. He should be able to just add/edit a document.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanx and Regards,

Subrajit

Re: Document module add document

Hi Subrajit,

One way to do this is you can create two page A and B. you can set security rols to A can view only his page and B can view only his page.

Then add document module to both pages. so they can edit their individual documents as well as add a new document.

hope this will help you.

Malin

Re: Document module add document

Currently the documents module cannot support this type of functionality, if you have "edit" permissions to the module you can edit all documents that have been uploaded and not just your own.

The solution proposed by malin is a viable option, given that you don't have to do it too many times as it can become and administrative nightmare.
