Re: File links lost in documents module.

We are having the same issue.

We are running DNN version: 04.06.00

We have one parent and about 30 child portals.

It seems that every link in every document module, or every forum where documents had been uploaded to posts, have the links breaking.

We have to manually re-attach to the correct document.

At the moment, if you click an un-fixed link, we get the following error: [NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]

In the DNN Event Viewer:
AssemblyVersion: 04.06.00
PortalID: 16
PortalName: Construction Inspection Program

A simmilar message appears in the Windows Server Application Event log...

Anyone have an idea why this might be happening?

From reports coming in from users, they all seemed to break at once :(

Thanks,
Bill

Re: File links lost in documents module.

Bill,

This appears to be an issue with changing "file id's" for file uploaded to DotNetNuke.

My guess is that there is one of two things that could cause this.

1.) A new version of the file was uploaded which would result in a new file id.

2.) Some how the "Files" table was cleared in the portal and a recursive file sync was used to "re define" the file listings.
