file size and file extension restrictions

doing a search and some tests with the documents module.  I find that large files, over 5 mb  fail.

videos for example will fail.

I have been asked to find out what the file size limitations are?

and if we can control file extensions?  for instance I am not sure uploading vb files would be a good idea.

I need some answers for these questions.

Thanks

Re: file size and file extension restrictions

I believe filesize will be controlled by the web.config file,  try increasing the maxRequestLength in the httpRuntime section of the web.config file.

To control what extensions can be uploaded you need to go to the Host Settings page.

Re: file size and file extension restrictions

Chris is correct, we do not have any internal limitations in the documents module simply the restrictions placed by the .NET framework, which can be modified in the web.config.

As Chris mentioned you can modify the accepted file types using the Host Settings page.  In your case with .vb files and other files of that nature, I would strongly reccomend placing them inside of a zip and then loading them to the documents module rather than actually uploading the file.  This would prevent any issues from coming up relating to the code trying to complie or execute.
