how to quickly upload files

Hello

I am building am intranet for my org and am required to upload or at least make available for downloads quite a huge number of pdf files, in excess of 1.5 terabytes. I need ideas on how best to make this files available for download to users. Whether to upload them to a dnn database or have them somewhere in a particular location?? I need an option that will make it possible to search through the files as they are pleanty and users will need to search through them. I also need to categorize the docs, how best can this be done.

Any help will be appreciated

Regards

Geeman

Re: how to quickly upload files

Geeman,

This is a very unique selection of features that you are looking for.  I would say that the documents module would not be the best due to the slow process that would be required to list each item and the lack of an ability to search the content of any uploaded files.

However, I am not aware of any DNN modules that provide document content searching, I'm not saying that it isn't out there, I just don't know where to recommend that you go.

Re: how to quickly upload files

Thank you for your response Mitch,

The decision has a lready been made to make the site DNN based, so I have to come up with something, I need ideas at least for uploading documents quickly, searching through them we can figure out later.

I was thinking, if it makes sense, to try to write a routine that looks up documents in a specified folder and automatically add them
 for download

Any help?

Thanks

Geeman
