Module Capability

I am very new to DNN, but I have a new job maintaining it, so here I am getting my feet wet with it.

I want a module that I can categorize the files presented:  Jan08 Category: file1, file2, file3;  Feb08: file4, file5, file6; etc.  I'm not exactly sure how I want this to look -- drop down menu, simple headings, etc., but I would definitely like some way to distinguish different categories of documents within the module.

My question is:  Is the 'default' DNN Documents Module capable of doing what I want, or should I look at outside sources for a categorized documents module?

Thanks for any insight.  I'm sure I'll be poking around here often in the coming months.

CJ

Re: Module Capability

CJ,

The core module shows all items in a list format, you can specify a category, title, and description, however it doesn't allow a drill down, or filtering of results.

You might have a look at the respository module.
