Re: Events module - Intelli_Calendar help or suggestions

I have done some more testing and can now reliably reproduce the problem.

Single events do not show up at all. Recurring ones will show up, just not the first instance of the event. In order for single event to appear, I have to set the date one week ahead of time, set it to reoccure weekly, and then put an end date a couple days after the "real" event to prevent it from showing up again. For example, if I've got an event set for the 14th and I simply enter it as a single event on the 14th - no go. However, if I set up the same event to show up on the 7th, set it to reoccure weekly on the same day and then set the end date on the 17th, everything works perfectly.

Seriously - anybody ever had this happen? What did you do to fix it? Obviously with a work-around, the bug is not life-threatening (not that it was anyway), but it is a little annoying - any and all help is most welcomed.

Re: Events module - Intelli_Calendar help or suggestions

Hi Zeke,

Am I right in thinking you are usign version 3.3.8 of the Events module (or an earlier version). We have worked hard on resolving this type of issue in the next release. There are a number of issues related to this type of scenario so can I ask you to look at this one on Gemini (EVT-5500), and the ones shown as related to it and see if they look like they are your problem.

If you have the time, can you look at version 4.0.0 from www.dnnevents.net in your test environment, and see if that solves the problem. If not, can you let us know the exact dates and settings you are entering, and we'll try to duplicate and fix.

Thanks
Roger

Re: Events module - Intelli_Calendar help or suggestions

Thanks Roger - we are using 03.03.08 which we had installed just a few weeks ago. Didn't really see any similarities between the issues on Gemini and what are experiencing. We don't currently have a test environment operational, so as you can guess, we're a little leery about trying out 4.0.0...

It's not really a matter of exact dates and settings as it's any and all single events, as well as the first instance of a reocurring event-pick a date or time and that's what happens for us.

A small bit of history-we had an earlier version working properly, but needed to change the time interval from 30 minutes to 5 minutes. As this could not be done after the module was first configured we had to delete it from the page and add a new instance. Only trouble was that the calendar wouldn't display at all. Only by completely removing the module from this DNN installation and reinstalling the Events module were we able to get the calendar to display. It is limping along now, with the problem as described.

Re: Events module - Intelli_Calendar help or suggestions

If you can give me some exact data that you are adding, I'll have a look at it. Also if you have changed any other settings from defaults. For instance you have changed the time interval from 30 to 5 minutes.

Cheers
Roger
