Modifying event source code?

Have a question regarding modifying the existing event module source.  We downloaded the source but l lthe .vb code files seem to be located in a resource.zip file.  Are we just suppose to unzip these into the main folder with the ascx files or which?  Why are they zipped like this?

What is the easiest way to setup a project in VS to handle makign modes to the module and recompoiling it so we can drop it over the existing module on a site manually?  Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Modifying event source code?

This guide by Fuji tells you how to set up the events module for modification. It refers to version 4.0.0, the current beta version is now 4.0.1 (4.0.0 was not officially released). I believe the Source Pack on www.dnnevnts.net is an installable package, which you can install just like any PA.

You will need to use Visual Studio 2008 to modify the 4.x versions of the events module.

Cheers
Roger
