Multiple Events modules
I don't know if this is possible or not, but I'm hoping it is. I just installed the 3.2 events module on the server that has our portal, which is to be used to display events for everyone that logs into the portal to see. In my office here I have a test portal that I've used to create an events module that filters events to show only events for the user that is logged into the portal. I know Alan wants me to send what I come up with to him to implement but at the moment the only way to give an event a userID is to enter it into the database itself which I doubt is very useful to many people using DNN, also most of the original functionality is lost in that if there is no UserID no one can see the event. We are going to try to accomplish this using a webservice from the program we developed here, pushing events with a UserID from our program to the portal so the users can log in and see their upcoming events without having to have our program. My problem is if I overwrite the 3.2 events module the calander that displays events for everyone won't work anymore as the EventsGetByRange function now only shows Events for the logged in user. How do I go about installing this events module as "Custom Events" or something other than "Events" so both of them can run at the same time? The only modification my new Module makes to the Events table is it adds a field "EventUserID" that defaults to NULL when using the create event function in the events module, which I believe the original events module will ignore. So will I need to make a completely new table to hold these events or can I use the same Events table?
