Validation issue

I am going to use this Event Module for room booking in our intranet but I noticed that Event Module doesn’t not have time-room conflict checking. Will this validation check implameted in the future?

Many Thanks.

Re: Validation issue

Hi,

Have you tried ticking the 'Prevent Schedule Conflict' box in the module settings. This should do the conflict checking you are looking for. It only allows one event to occur at a time.

Cheers
Roger

Events 4.0.2 - It's released !! - See the annoucement.
Requirements/Bugs - Submit them here - Gemini - Raise against project 'DNNP', and put 'Events' in the title.

It does check the conflict as you mentioned that one event is allowed at a time.  More specifically, one event is allowed at a time regardless of locations.
Since a LOCATION can be created, the location should be a conflict checking location as well, because an event can be occurred at the same time but in different locations.
Another suggestion:  When a conflict(s) occur, it is better to display where the detailed conflict is. This is especially useful for recursive bookings.
Thanks for your wonderful work.

Re: Validation issue

Hi,

Interesting ideas, I've posted them on Gemini so they can be tracked for a future release - EVT-7900

Cheers
Roger

Thanks very much Roger. I would like reword what I've said in my previous thread:

"Since a LOCATION can be created, the location should be taken into account as a conflict checking variable as well, because many meetings can be held at the same time as long as they are in different locations."
