RSS Feed out by Category

Anyone found a solution for RSS feeding out the events module by category?  My users want to be able to grab an rss feed from their portal and have it be filtered by a specific category.  Thanks guys

Brandon

Re: RSS Feed out by Category

Perhaps a solution: create one module instance per category for the RSS feeds. To collect all events, create a master calendar with the other instances as subcalendars.

Re: RSS Feed out by Category

Ya that would work, sadly i dont think my users would go for that.  I will just program a module to call on the events tables and rss feed by category.  Just didnt want to double up work if anyone had already done it.

Has anyone been getting an RSS feed from the latest version?  I installed the latest and now I can't get a feed on the syndicate link from a newly created module.  I'm sure it was working a couple of revs back.

Re: RSS Feed out by Category

Hi Roberta,

Please be aware that any RSS feed from the events module is more by accident than deisgn at the moment, we plan to improve this feature in the next major release. That said I am still getting an RSS feed from a 4.0.1 install - see here - http://www.thedivingclub.co.uk/Diving/Calendar/tabid/54/moduleid/862/RSS.aspx, so not sure why it doesn't work for you.

I'll have a look at your theme issue on the other thread over the next couple of days, and post back in there whatever I find out.

Cheers
Roger
